We met online,
when online dating was taboo. After a few weeks of emails and phone calls, we
decided it was time to meet. We agreed on Café Bleu; a quaint little spot in
the Hillcrest neighborhood of San Diego, CA.
Eddie - "Being the man that I am, I arrived 10 minutes early just in case I needed to plan an escape route. The moment Herb walked through the front door I was STAR STRUCK! I saw sparkles around his aura that made me feel all tingly and warm inside like I just came home. At that moment I knew this man will change my life forever.
Now that I think back, I was a few cocktails in and it was probably headlights from a car outside. Anyways, I like to tell the star struck story because in my mind it's true!! :-)
Herb- "Before meeting, I made sure to quiz Eddie a bit....uh I mean get to know him. I asked him about sports of which he seemed to be a blank slate, ripe for the teaching. Then I asked him about food which he promptly stated he could make both collard greens and tamales. Then I asked him if he knew how to make carne guisada and he said, "What?" I said 2 out of 3 deserves a meeting. His 10 minutes early was more like 20 because I was 10 minutes early. I walk in and see him sitting all nervous in a stripe colored shirt showing off a little chest hair. :-) Before I even sat down, I said DONE AND DONE."
